Payment, Insurance and Billing

Cash pay: We accept cash. If you will be paying for your visit and not filing with any insurance company, we require a $50 copay to be accepted when you check in. Any balance from your visit, or our work on your behalf will be your responsibility to pay. Please contact us at 325-261-9167 or ofcmgr2110@gmail.com with any questions regarding your bill or your ability to pay. We will honor almost any effort on your behalf to make payments.

Medicare: We accept Medicare and most Medicare supplements. At your appointment, ask Dr Martin about Chronic Care Management. People with Medicare coverage, who have 2 or more chronic illnesses, qualify for a program covered and paid for by Medicare called Chronic Care Management. This program is a valuable benefit to both the patient and the medical team caring for him or her. Dr Martin can give you more details.

Medicaid: We only accept Medicaid on a very limited basis. However, I can offer most of my services for a reasonable cash price.  Please ask us how we can help you and make it affordable for you. Call 325-455-0426 or email drmartinmessages@gmail.com.

There are some services we provide that we do not file to insurance. These may include office visits, procedures, injections or other medically related services or products. The reason we do not file is because there is too much extra effort to justify some medical work to an insurance company, or the insurance does not cover the service or product. If we are not filing some portion of your care with insurance, we will inform you and let you decide how you pay for your care.

Regarding collections: We will send a bill to the address on record for 4 months; at that point, the account will be turned over to Transworld Systems. Transworld is a leader in the field of medical collections. While we never want an account to end up with them, sometimes it is necessary. Transworld’s approach is gentle and centers predominately on reminders and many efforts to notify you of the debt and give you an opportunity to arrange payment. We have no interest in hurting someone’s credit but want to work toward maintaining a healthy physician/patient relationship. Thank you for your understanding and please feel free to ask any questions you have regarding this process. Call 325-261-9167 or email ofcmgr2110@gmail.com.

To Apply for Financing: First Financial Bankshares offers great terms for financing medical procedures. Click the button below in order to apply. You will open a new page. Fill out the application and you will receive information regarding the process via email.

Policy for Cash Pay Controlled Medication Refills

In an effort to continue to provide important and effective medical care, and to stay competitive in the ever-changing medical marketplace, we have found it necessary to implement the following changes.  These changes will take place effective 4/1/2018.

Patients receiving Suboxone, pain medication, and/or controlled medication refills, and who have a cash pay status, will be seen on Monday or Friday morning between 9 and 10 am.  Each visit will now cost $150. The cost for a new patient’s first visit will be $180.

The only exceptions will be for national holidays, or days Dr. Martin is out of the office.

Thank you for your understanding as we help you with your healthcare

Tim Martin, M.D.

New Chronic Care Prescription Policy

We are instituting a new policy regarding prescription medications that are refilled on a monthly basis.

  • This DOES NOT include controlled substances like hydrocodone and Adderall.
  • This DOES NOT include urgent medications like antibiotics.
  • This DOES NOT include any Medicaid or Tricare prescriptions.
  • This DOES include medications for hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, gout, depression…etc, for which a 90-day prescription is appropriate.

There has been a dramatic increase in the rules and regulations put in place by government and commercial insurances.  Our office now has over 90 different pharmacies that we might be asked to prescribe to. In regards to prescription medications, this is very difficult to manage.

In an effort to simplify this complex situation, we are changing the process by which we prescribe chronic medications. (Acute care medicines like antibiotics and pain medications will still be sent to a local pharmacy.) We will now send all new prescriptions for chronic care medicines. And all refill requests for chronic care medicines to the mail-order pharmacy we work with: Advanced Rx. Their phone number is (844) 290-7034.

Advanced Rx is an actual pharmacy in Richardson, Texas.  They seek to work with all insurances except Medicaid and Tricare. When your medication is sent to them, they will call you, or you can call them at the number above. Once your insurance has been verified, they will ship your medicine to your address for free. If your insurance company does not cover your medicine to be filled through them, of if your co-pay is too expensive, simply ask them to transfer your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.

If you choose to have your prescription to any other pharmacy, please simply notify them and they will do so.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to provide excellent medical care in an increasingly complex environment.

If Dr. Martin ordered specialty medicine for you, you can call that specialty pharmacy at (855) 581-6979.

Pharmacy Policy MUST READ if You Use WalMart, Walgreens and CVS

Attention, Patients using:

Wal-Mart, Walgreens and CVS

Effective Immediately

We will no longer be providing customer service to assist in solving problems created by the internal policies of these pharmacies or Insurance companies who require the use of these pharmacies.

Each of these companies has begun a variety of policies that restrict, limit or in other ways prevent people from getting their prescriptions in a convenient and timely fashion.  We are being asked multiple times a day to help our patients figure out how to solve the problems created by their pharmacies internal decision.

You are free to request that we send your prescription to any pharmacy you choose, and we will.  We suggest that, if possible, you call and confirm they have the medicine you are needing.

But if you experience any difficulty at any of the three pharmacy chains listed above, we will not attempt to correct their action related to your choice and their decision.

Excellent alternative pharmacies include, but are not limited to: James McCoy, Drug Emporium, HEB, Sam’s Club, Barnes & Williams, Market Street, and the United Pharmacies.

Please feel free to ask us any questions regarding this new policy.  Once again: We will send your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.

Thank you for your understanding as we help you with your healthcare!

Tim Martin, M.D.
